Local residency is not required to apply for the license.

Only US Coast Guard Licenses are accepted for a reciprocity license.

The State of Maine has 5 licensing levels:

  1. Maine 1st Class Stationary Engineer
  2. Maine 2nd Class Stationary Engineer
  3. Maine 3rd Class Stationary Engineer
  4. Maine 4th Class Stationary Engineer
  5. Maine High Pressure Boiler Operator
